Intuit is now offering a Version Protection (VP) annual subscription to all customers who currently own QuickBooks Point of Sale version 10.  Version Protection allows you to receive the most current version of QB-POS when it becomes available, as long as your subscription is active. 

This means that all customers currently using version 10 can upgrade to the next version for a fraction of the cost of a typical upgrade - $225 per user/per year for Pro or Multi Store and $180 per user/per year for Basic. 
 
Existing customers of Versions 8 and 9 can upgrade to v10 and then purchase Version Protection for all subsequent versions.
 
A customer has six months to renew Version Protection from the time it lapses.  After that time the customer will need to repurchase the product license to reactivate Version Protection. Version Protection does not come with support. However, customers will continue to receive 30 days of free support when they “receive” the new product. Customers can renew Version Protection annually.
 
You must purchase Version Protection equal to the product that you have purchased or own. For example, if you have POS Basic with three users, you must purchase Version Protection for Basic for three users. Version protection is purchased on a per user basis.
